Hartree-Fock evaluations of specific-mass isotope shifts

چکیده

Following a previous paper on the 3d series, specific-mass isotope shifts are computed, by means of the non-relativistic Hartree-Fock method, in atoms of the 4d, 4f, 5d and 5f series, in the alkalis and in a few twoand three-electron spectra. In heavy atoms, when isotopic measurements of muonic X-ray transition lines are available, direct comparisons with experiment are presented for optical transitions with large specific shifts. In the other cases, through the use of King diagrams, the comparison is made between the Hartree-Fock (HF) and experimental values of some known linear combination of the specific shifts of two lines. In all nlN long series, the HF and experimental values agree within a factor of two. This gives confidence in the main HF result, i. e. the prediction that the lines with the jump of an nl electron have by far the largest mass shifts. Ground State Properties of Exotic Nuclei near Z=40 in the Relativistic Mean-field Theory

Study of the ground-state properties of Kr, Sr and Zr isotopes has been performed in the framework of the relativistic mean field (RMF) theory using the recently proposed relativistic parameter set NL-SH. It is shown that the RMF theory provides an unified and excellent description of the binding energies, isotope shifts and deformation properties of nuclei over a large range of isospin in the ...

Isospin dependence of the spin-orbit force and effective nuclear potentials.

The isospin dependence of the spin-orbit potential is investigated for an effective Skyrme-like energy functional suitable for density dependent Hartree-Fock calculations. The magnitude of the isopin dependence is obtained from a fit to experimental data on finite spherical nuclei. It is found to be close to that of relativistic Hartree models. Consequently, the anomalous kink in the isotope sh...

Selfconsistent calculations of fission barriers in the Fm region

The fission barriers of the nuclei 254Fm, 256Fm, 258Fm, 258No and 260Rf are investigated in a fully microscopic way up to the scission point. The analysis is based on the constrained Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory and Gogny’s D1S force. The quadrupole, octupole and hexadecapole moments as well as the number of nucleons in the neck region are used as constraints. Two fission paths, corresponding...

Calculation of Quasi-one-dimensional Interacting Electron Gas Using the Hartree-Fock Method

In this paper, the Hartree-Fock method has been formulated to investigate some of the ground state properties of quasi-one-dimensional interacting electron gas in the presence of the magnetic field. The bare coulomb interaction between electrons has been assumed. For this system, we have also computed some of its thermodynamic and magnetic properties such as the energy, pressure, incompressibil...
